starting my 20s, feel like i just started living 

gonna stop fixing, gonna stop giving 

about to turn 21

but not fitting your idea of fun 

she’s not as happy as she looks

so i watch movies, write poems, read books

i outgrew the disingenuous

“it’s really not that serious”

to me, maybe it is, but you’ll never agree 

so i took away your key to me 

discovering myself, i feel brand new

not gonna live to impress you 

about to turn 21 

my life has just begun.
